Msɨt No’kmaq
“Nature has rights, and humans have responsibilities.”
- Elder Albert Marshall
Msɨt No’kmaq: all of my relations
Msɨt No’kmaq (pronounced MM-sit no-GO-mah) is a Mi’kmaq phrase that reminds us of the interconnectedness of all life. Humans are not separate from nature; we are part of it.
We are committed to being good stewards of these unceded lands and waters, as well as the plants and animals that sustain this complex web of life.
As environmental organizations working in the unceded lands of Mi’kma’ki, the Ecology Action Centre and the Healthy Forest Coalition are committed to upholding our responsibilities as Treaty people. Together, we can all work toward a healthier environment for the next seven generations and beyond.
