Join the movement
Here are a few ways you can help.
- Join a local group that’s championing a community-proposed protected area in your district
- Schedule a meeting with your MLA and urge them to take action to meet the 20% by 2030 commitment
- Email Minister Halman (Minister.Environment@novascotia.ca) Minister Rushton (mindnr@novascotia.ca) and your local MLA (find your MLA’s contact information here) about the need to legally protect these community-proposed protected areas
While it may feel like the government isn’t listening, public pressure, education, and advocacy are powerful tools. Here in Nova Scotia, people power has saved important wild places like Owls Head Provincial Park, West Mabou Beach Provincial Park, and South Panuke Lake Wilderness Area.
Together, we can save even more.
